Rebel Sticks It to the Man…Danko

Category: Heroes, TV — @ 9:17 pm

Gettin’ up to date on “Heroes,” we last saw Claire confronted by Eric Doyle (puppet master dude that held her and her two moms hostage earlier this season), who claims that she is supposed to help him. Yet again, Rebel is hard at work. Claire and her mother still feel a bit raw about their latest confrontation with him, so despite his efforts to prove that he’s not the same man, he leaves.

Cutting to Parkman, you may recall that Danko drugged him up and left him with a chest full of explosives in front of the Capitol building. When Nathan catches wind of the fact that Parkman is there, he rushes to the scene. Once there, Nathan attempts to calm Parkman down, but Parkman believes that Nathan is responsible for this. Once Nathan manages to gain Parkman’s trust, he pushes him to concentrate on the SWAT team surrounding them to figure out which wire to cut, just as they’re going for the red wire, at the very last second they go for the black wire, and the bomb does not detonate to Danko’s dismay. With that, Nathan knocks Parkman out.

Things are fairly rocky for Nathan and Danko, and they wind up getting into a bit of a pissing match, both revealing that they’re going to try and push each other out. Danko starts digging up dirt on Nathan, attempting to prove his suspicions. He even goes so far as to see Angela in hopes of learning something about Nathan, but she manages to be somewhat evasive. Meanwhile, Nathan has gone over Danko’s head to the president, and is pleased to inform Danko that Danko is out on his ass.

Sylar had an interesting encounter this week…with his father, now suffering from cancer and basically breathing through an oxygen tank. While Sylar was once hell bent on killing him, he now sees how pointless that would be, because he would be putting his father, Samson, out of his misery. Samson shows Sylar that they have the same powers, and sure enough a battle ensues that reveals to Samson that Sylar has a healing ability. Samson’s thirst for the ability takes over, and he pleads with Sylar, saying that he would survive if Samson took the ability, but Sylar decides against it, and storms out leaving Samson to suffer a long and painful death.

As for Claire, ultimately she decides to take the high road and help Doyle, after Doyle totally had her back when she was caught up in a run-in with agents. The thing was, he spared the agent’s life, which won Claire’s trust. She goes to the trouble of creating a false identity and papers for him, and when she sends him on his way asks if he really has changed.  He smiled and walked off without a word.

Meanwhile, Hiro and Ando return to the fold, now seeking to protect Matt Parkman. It’s not long before they learn that Matt Parkman is a baby…mistaken identity? Or no…Matt Parkman’s son! Stay tuned for more on that.

While Nathan and Noah meet, Danko approaches them talking all kinds of smack and holding Nathan at gunpoint. He voices his suspicions, and finally, throws Nathan out the window, revealing that Nathan can fly. Cover’s totally blown!

Next episode, Noah and Angela redezvous and discuss what’s up, namely, how Noah can continue to prove he is trustworthy to Danko. With Nathan on the run, Danko is back in charge of all operations…bad news bears for our heroes. Angela suggests giving up Rebel, but they debate whether they may need him down the road. It’s unclear if they necessarily know who Rebel is, or if it’s simply very possible to track Rebel down and find out.

Back with Hiro and Ando, they try and figure out what they are supposed to do with baby Matt Parkman, and it doesn’t take too long for them to figure it out. They see that baby Matt Parkman has a “touch and go” power…basically he makes things work…like an unplugged television. When Parkman’s ex-wife shows up, and all formalities are made, she explains that the cops want to question both her and her son about Parkman, but Hiro and Ando believe this must be a trap. Yup. Sure enough some detectives show up to retrieve Parkman’s ex and baby Matt Parkman, and she lies, saying she’ll bring them to go pick up her son. Unfortunately, the detectives call a raid on the house, and Hiro’s power kicks in in the nick of time (thanks to baby Matt Parkman, who made his power work), and he froze time. More unfortunately, his powers didn’t work entirely, and he couldn’t transport himself and Ando through space, so he got a wheelbarrow to put a frozen Ando in and travelled 10 miles on foot, with baby Matt Parkman in hand. This is classic Hiro and Ando misadventures.

Meanwhile, back at Building 26, Rebel fudged with Tracey’s room, allowing her to slip out. She made her way into the room where Parkman, Daphne, and Mohinder were all comatose and awoke them. Rebel, helped them all escape, but Tracey was difficult and chose to go off on her own believing they would all just slow her down. Parkman and Mohinder got Daphne to the hospital ASAP, that bullet wound was still looking pretty damn ugly. Tracey went shopping.

Tracey was dumb though, and it wasn’t long before Noah caught up with her and cut a deal. If she gives him Rebel, he’ll let her walk away from all of this. Well, Tracey’s given up just about everyone else in this damn show in her brief role, so why not one more person? She agrees. But when she finally meets Rebel…MICAH! she gets guilty and explains what she’s done. Needless to say, post-puberty Micah is pissed at this utter lack of heroism on her part, but she promises to make it right. She gets that opportunity when they find themselves cornered in a parking garage. She asks Micah if he can activate the sprinklers, which is child’s play for Micah. Then she tells him to run, not to look back, and stay ahead of the ice. I’ll be damned if Tracey doesn’t freeze the hell out of the parking garage, herself included. Micah escapes and the last thing we see is Danko walking up to Tracey’s frozen body, shooting it, and her shattering all over the floor.

Daphne supposedly raced out of the hospital, and Parkman finds her in Paris. There, he reveals he can fly…apparently this guy can do a little of everything despite being one of the less interesting characters on the show. They say some heartfelt things, he does the Superman thing, letting her stand on his feet while he flies, but then she reveals that she knows this is a dream he created, and they’re still in the hospital. She says to let her go…and she dies. The writers of this show are pretty ruthless about killing off the chicks. Damn.

Lastly, it looks like Angela has been marked, and Danko’s guys corner her when she steps into an elevator. When the door opens though, Peter is beside her and they fly up the shaft and are last seen in the crown of the Statue of Liberty…
