Noah Bennett: Loyalist or Renegade?

Now that Peter, Mohinder, and Parkman have successfully captured Noah Bennett, they were able to get a glimpse back at how the current crisis all began. After bringing Noah to a hotel room, Parkman began prying into his brain to get to the bottom of all this, and see just how involved Noah was in Nathan’s grand scheme to round all those with abilities up. Granted, what they dig up puts the three of them in some very dangerous situations.

Parkman first learned that Angela Petrelli arranged a pretty nice severence for Noah from Primatech, but he found himself bored with all the free time on his hands at home. Sure enough, Nathan came knocking at his doorstep, looking for Noah’s assistance in creating his government program, hoping Noah’s experience could provide some insight. When he was surprised to see how willing Noah was to give up all the free time at home, Noah explained simply, “There’s only so many crossword puzzles I can do.” With that, Noah went on to show Nathan where his life’s work was, all the remaining weapons and files from working with Primatech.

While Mohinder argued that Noah’s memories could be distorted, and possibly faulty, Parkman insisted that everything he saw was real. With that, he sent Peter to check out the storage unit that Noah brought Nathan to. At the storage unit, Peter loads up on whatever supplies he can carry, but unbeknownst to him, he’s on hidden camera! Nathan and Danko send a team to the unit to capture Peter. And they almost have him, but Peter’s smart enough to slip a grenade outside the door as a distraction, just before zooming the f&*$ outta there!

Back at the hotel, Parkman dives back into Noah’s head, seeing the first meeting between Noah and Danko. Noah explains how things worked at Primatech, the whole “one of us, one them,” and defends some of those being hunted, saying they are good and useful people. Danko basically says screw that. They have a rather curt disagreement over how things should be run, and Danko pretty much wins. Things are getting done his way.

The memory cuts out to a new memory when Noah gets in a cab, driven by none other than Mohinder. Noah explains that Mohinder can be useful in this new regime, but Mohinder doesn’t believe any of it. He’s actually somewhat hostile towards Noah, which is strange, because the last time I remember them being closely linked is back when Mohinder brought Noah back to life with Claire’s blood in season 2. Other than that, Mohinder was mostly bad in this season and has since seen the error of his ways, so why he was such a douche to Noah, I’m not quite sure.

Needless to say, Parkman is pissed and pulls out, then starts attacking Mohinder (yeah, this is some kind of fist fight). Parkman is still pretty pissed about Daphne being dead, and he’s taking that anger out on just about everyone. Man, I hate Parkman. Of course, while he was busy storming around, Noah managed to make a quick escape and hotwire a car. Fortunately, Peter returned just in the nick of time to stop Noah from getting anywhere. At least someone’s keeping a level head throughout all of this.

Eventually, things settle down in the hotel room and Parkman digs back into Noah’s brain, seeing a recent memory in which Noah pays Danko a visit at home. There, their differences escalate further while Noah defends the superpowered community, saying that he needs to look at their humanity, whereas Danko writes them off as targets. Danko then insists that Noah is valuable, but he needs his assurance that once they start rounding up the heroes that he will take orders. Noah agrees.

Once again, Peter jets off to this new destination, Danko’s apartment. As Danko arrives and looks at his surveillance videos, Peter creeps up behind him and puts him at gunpoint. Back at Building 26, a tech brings this to the attention of Nathan, and Nathan jets off on his own to check up on the situation. While Nathan is en route, Danko talks to Peter, and they both throw questions at each other about who is the good guy. When Nathan finally arrives, he attempts to cool Peter off, telling him that if he shoots Danko, there will be higher orders to kill Peter, and Nathan won’t be able to intervene. Peter shoots Danko in the arm, and then takes off.

Back at the hotel, a team moves in, kicking in doors to find Parkman and Mohinder. Meanwhile, Noah has revealed that Daphne is in fact alive, and he can go in his head to see for himself. Parkman does so, and Mohinder tells him that he’ll go outside and fight them off to buy time. He does just that and gets captured. While Parkman gets what he needs from Noah, a team busts in and takes him down. Oooh, things ain’t looking good for our rebels. Granted, Peter manages to swoop in and save Parkman, although Mohinder is not nearly as lucky. Damn shame, I’m a Mohinder fan.

At Building 26, Nathan confronts Mohinder in lockup and explains that Mohinder has already found ways to isolate abilities, and could therefore be of use to Nathan. He threatens him, showing that Daphne is alive, and she will remain that way if Mohinder agrees to help find a way to isolate and eliminate abilities. Yeah, things are really looking bad for Mohinder.

As for Noah, now that he’s free, Danko confronts him and discusses where they’re at now. He admits to underestimating the heroes, but after being skeptical of Noah’s loyalty, is now quite certain that Noah is 100% with him. He goes on to suggest that Nathan’s personal issues are affecting his ability to lead this mission, and that now they have to adjust tactics and take control of things. Afterwards, he meets Angela Petrelli on the same bench from earlier, where he explains that he has Danko fooled, but Angela tells him that Danko trusts no one and he’ll have to continue proving his loyalty. Noah agrees. Looks like Noah just might be “Rebel.”

As for Peter and Parkman, they headed for Isaac’s loft where Parkman did some quick paintings. The floor that was once covered by an explosion in New York, is now a giant explosion at the White House. Another city exploding?
